Wedding Venue’s Lovelock stands the test of time

Back in 2016, during a memorable trip to London, we decided to leave a little piece of Old Forest School in one of the city’s trendiest neighborhoods. We attached an Old Forest School lovelock to a popular spot in Shoreditch, a vibrant area known for its creativity, street art, and unique charm. Shoreditch is a place that feels alive with stories, and it seemed the perfect location to place a symbol of all the love that’s been celebrated at our venue.

The spot we chose was right beside the Shoreditch BoxPark, a local favorite filled with shops, food stalls, and art displays. Alongside the bustling energy of this area is a fence adorned with countless lovelocks, each representing a special moment, a promise, or a memory shared. Adding our own lock to this collection was our way of connecting Old Forest School to a world of love stories that stretch far beyond New Zealand.

Seeing our lovelock nestled among hundreds of others, each with its own unique meaning, was a humbling experience. It’s as if we left a small piece of Old Forest School’s heart in the heart of London. Shoreditch’s lovelock fence represents a global tradition of love and connection, and it’s wonderful to think that couples who marry with us are now linked, in spirit, to this special place on the other side of the world.

Every time we think of our lock in Shoreditch, it reminds us of the universal nature of love and celebration. Just as Old Forest School brings people together in our own corner of New Zealand, this lock serves as a small but enduring symbol of the connections we make and the stories that are part of our journey. Whether you’re in London or at Old Forest School, our lovelock represents the lasting bonds we’re honored to witness and celebrate every day.

Lovelock UK wedding venue

We were back in Shoreditch in August 2019 and thought we would take the opportunity locate our Lovelock. We tracked it down, it was very cool to see it was still going strong!
